Rangana Tittu bird sanctuary

This bird sanctuary is located between Mysore and Sriranganapatana, Rangana-tittu is a bird sanctuary which is known for its rivulets. It is a unique experience to travel by boat on these rivulets watching birds in their natural habitat. Thick overgrowth of trees and shrub make this boat travel a unique experience. Cranes from as far as Siberia and birds from the middle east roost here with the local fauna during the winter months and fly back with their young ones, each year. It is a nature lovers paradise.

When in the boat, do make sure that you do not put your hands into the water. Rangana-tittu is also home to a species of crocodiles, which can often be seen resting along the banks of the river.
