Balamuri

Balamuri, on the banks of the river Cauvery, is an ideal picnic spot. The river Cauvery flowing down from the Krishnarajasagar reservoir, takes a turn to the right at this spot, located between Krishnarajasagar and Mysore. From there the Cauvery flows towards the birds sanctuary and the historic town of Srirangapatana. Just a few kms from Mysore city, Balamuri, because of the majestic turn of the river, has become an ideal spot for visit. It has become a popular picnic spot for young men and college students. The green paddy and sugarcane fields make the place attractive. People from Mysore drive out to this place to spend their evenings, with drinks and food. Passers by and tourists also visit the spot.
